FORMER MINISTER OF FINANCE POLYCARPE ABAH ABAH SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS IN PRISON

Former Minister of Economy and Finance,Polycarpe Abah Abah on  Thursday, November 3, 2016 was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Special Criminal Court (TCS), Yaounde.

Polycarpe Abah Abah who was  Minister of Economy and Finance  between 2004-2008 is in prison for abuse of 1,158, 352,393 F CFA in the case of the management of audio visual fee.

Arrested in 2008, as part of the “hawk,” -operation to recover embezzled  public-funds and mismanagement PolycarpeAbah Abah had received  two other sentences by the same court..


In June 12, 2012, the former minister was caught by police while trying to escape from Kondengui prison.He was sentenced to 6 years in prison for “attempted escape.”

He was again sentenced to 25 years January 13, 2015 for the diversion of 4.9 billion CFA francs.

Last Thursday 03 November 2016, the former tax director was convicted for the third time, to 20 years in prison.
