OVER 1,000 HOLIDAY JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN PUBLIC SECTORS LAUNCHED BY THE MINISTER OF PUBLIC WORKS

The Cameroonian Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Reform (Minfopra), Michel Ange Angouing, has just launched a series of 13 direct competitive exams, to recruit young graduates in the Civil Service. Over 1,000 vacancies are open in sectors such as Posts and Telecoms, accounting, agriculture or environmental resources…
According to the management of this ministry, approximately 1,000 additional jobs will soon be available in the mining and geology, documentation, livestock and fisheries, land registry, civil engineering, midwifery, meteorology, etc, sectors. At the same time, Minfopra informs, young Cameroonians will compete for 4,000 openings this year in the Ecoles Normales Superieures (elitist tertiary schools) of the country, for a teacher training which will directly lead to a job in the Civil Service.
As a reminder, in Cameroon, a country in which unemployment is rife, the Civil Service is the main source of employment. To date, it has approximately 270,000 employees working in almost all activity sectors, with a monthly payroll reaching FCfa 100 billion.
In order to reduce this payroll deemed outrageous, several civil service personnel identification campaigns have helped to reveal important fraudulent networks in the payroll file of the State, and which dismantling often led to savings of up to FCfa 5 billion per month.
