On the instruction of Ni John Fru Ndi, Chairman of the Social Democratic Front ( SDF), Members of parliament of Cameroon’s main opposition political party visited René Emmanuel Sadi, the Minister of Territorial Administration and the Decentralization ( MINATD). The objective of their visit, according to the daily newspaper Le Jour of July 1st, 2016, was about the social crisis between the populations of the Northwest Region and forbes magazine’s francophone Africa’s richest man Aladji Baba Ahmadou Danpullo.
The lawmakers are taking up the matter following the recent confrontations arisen in Esu, the Northwest Region and about the process of privatization of the company Ndu Tea Estate.
On the 28th of June this year, the aforementioned Members of parliament organized a press briefing on the audience which was granted to them by the minister of Territorial Administration.
According to the daily Le Jour, Hon.Joseph Banadzem Lukong, the president of the SDF parliamentary group, and the other members of Parliament declared to have informed the MINADT on the activities of the land grabbing businessman. They continue that on the crisis between the farmers and the breeders in Esu, a detailed report was made on Aladji Baba Ahmadou Danpullo’s activities which by using his fortune, his influence and political connections, seizes vast lands of pasture and culture to the detriment of the population of Esu.

Hon. Joseph Banadzem, is reported to have reminded MINATD that the business magnet had acquired Ndu Tea Estate further to its privatization by the State.But ‘Unfortunately the management of this company completely ignored the social aspect, depriving the populations of any access to the water, to the health care, to education and to the traffic lanes’ , writes Le Jour.
The members of parliament declared that René Emmanuel Sadi was very delighted to receive another version of the facts besides that served by his collaborators from MINATD on the ground.
His reaction on this matter is deeply expected not only by the people of Esu but through out the North and Southwest Regions.
