14% OF CAMEROONIANS GO WITHOUT FOOD EACH DAY

The situation in the region was examined and analyzed with a forum organized by the Minepat.
According to statistics provided by the Food Programme (WFP), about 14% of the Cameroonian population lack  food. And this proportion is found mainly in the northern part of our country. An aggravated situation, in recent years, by the population explosion that knows the country, the influx on national territory of refugees from neighboring countries like the Central African Republic, Nigeria, the impact on agriculture and the breeding of climatic disturbances, among others. As will underline what the Governor of the region of North fort, Jean Abate Edi'i, 'speak of food security, it evokes social peace.
It is difficult in this state  as actors in development, including the administrative, municipal authorities elected, traditional authorities, elites, and sectoral technical officials, as well as experts in development and civil society of the region of Northern organizations found themselves searching for means to feed an entire population that go for days without food.Last Friday in Garoua, in order to measure up to the task and to seek solutions to solve these  problems and challenges that impede the achievement of food security in the region, they brought their own share of contribution to the development of the national strategy for food security and Nutrition. Meeting Exchanges and debates, organized by the Ministry of economy, planning and development of the territory (minepat), with the support of the Food Programme (WFP), and chaired by the patron of the northern region. They all seek to remedy the current problems faced at the North of Cameroon as not only the weather and War were they facing  now famine is quietly rendering the population down to earth.
